Forging musical frontiers

Senaida describes herself as a “futurist,” thinking forward to a time when people can express themselves sonically using brainwave feedback to achieve neuro-virtuosity.

SENAIDA (pronounced “Shuh-nay-duh”) is a multidisciplinary artist, sound architect, creative entrepreneur and futurist based in Brooklyn, New York. Through her work as a conscious artist and thought leader, she explores the intersections between art, emerging technologies and sustainability and how they can be used to create transcendental, collective experiences.
In 2020, SENAIDA founded a music-neurotechnology startup called MiSynth which explores the potential for new forms of creative expression using brainwaves. She co-hosts "Classy & Sassy" on WNYU 89.1 FM, and is a resident DJ at XPizza. She is also the founder and resident DJ for WE ARE THE FUTURE!, an underground interdisciplinary collective and curated art party focused on creating innovative, intersectional and inspirational spaces for creatives and artists in Brooklyn.

“For the shaman, art allows one to attain some degree of control over the unknown and mysterious forces that structure our world. In the realm of electronic music, the DJ stands as a modern-day shaman, navigating the liminal space between chaos and order, acting as a conduit for the collective spirit of the dancefloor. The dance floor becomes a sacred space, a contemporary altar where the DJ, like a shamanic figure, orchestrates a journey of sonic exploration and communal transcendence."
