About Cradleland 发源地
How do our souls return to a place we cannot remember? In Tibetan Buddhism, there is no concept of a single divine creator or an ultimate origin point. Instead, existence is seen as beginningless, shaped by the flow of karma. The Chinese term for “Cradleland,” 发源地 (Fāyuán dì) evokes the womb—a place of origin that is perpetually unfolding in the present moment.
This piece explores the infinite cycle of creation and dissolution across realms of existence, mirrored in the ephemeral nature of data, memories, and digital identities. Using found sounds from a server room, layered textures capture the relentless rhythm of generation and decay. As the 20-minute composition unfolds, it draws us inward—back to the womb, where all attachments dissolve and the self is stripped of permanence. Through this journey, we confront the transient nature of being and return to a state of pure potentiality, where creation begins anew.
